Twenty six year old medical worker, Oleksiy Tutov from Kerch, who was providing assistance to the wounded on Hrushevskoho Street was sentenced to two months in prison.
This information was given by Oleh Musiy, the coordinator of Euromaidan medical center.
On the 22nd of January, Tutov was providing medical assistance to the victims on Hrushevskoho Street.
Tutov was present the night when the members of Berkut special police force were trying to eject the activists. He was dressed in full medical uniform: a special helmet with a red cross as well as a white shirt with a big red cross on the front and the back.
For a few days the man did not communicate with anyone. According to Musiy, protesters considered Tutov dead.
“Nobody could even imagine that a medical worker could be arrested.” stated Musiy.
His arrest became known after Tutov’s call from Lukyanivsk prison. Eventually it turned out that he was brutally beaten and lacked warm clothing during his arrest.
Tutov was charged with assault on a special police worker. Holosiyivskyy Court sentenced Tutov to 2 months under supervision.
The medical service of Euromaidan signed a contract about judicial help with lawyer Nataliya Lisnevska, who will take care of Tutov.
